Late Saturday night, on April 11, 2026, the Atari VCS Community Cafe community was launched on Facebook. This group was created by Ballistik Coffee Boy on YouTube, as a place where VCS fans and content creators and devs alike can support, discuss and enjoy one of the most underrated home video game consoles of all time, the Atari VCS 800! This machine was launched in late 2020, first, to backers, then to the mass public. At launch, there were supposed to be two versions available, a 4 GB version (the 400) and an 8 GB version (the 800.) The Atari VCS has gone on to host one of the strongest game catalogs on any Atari home gaming console (and in this case, a PC-hybrid console, as the VCS transforms into a Linux or Windows PC. (Some users have even commented that they have used the VCS as their main computer in collegiate studies or to tinker with apps such as Retro Pie and other emulation programs.) The VCS currently holds over 200 games with no signs of slowing down. The console lately has become a repository for some great home-brew games, some from Atari Age, others from VCS devs or major devs like Tony Barnes (Retroninja) and Jani Pentinnen, to name a few. The system is currently in its sixth year and the community has been extremely supportive and outspoken about their love for the console. Please join us in this community as we discuss our love for one of the most underrated consoles of all time!
