Simply said

I grew up, never wound up dead

like so many that have gone before

laying there lifeless

motionless on the grimy club floor

simply said

life’s too short, my old man said

man it must be true

what a few years difference makes

now i’m invisible too

Simply said

why wake up, just stay in bed

everyone wants a part of you

poor suckers are starving out there

I do what I can do

simply said

life’s not fair, bang bang youre dead

so best advice is just to keep walking

one foot in front of the other, Fred

Simply said

gotta make your mark, from A to Zed

learning what you can each day

before you go to bed

be grateful & pray

Simply Said

some say I should be dead

but I fought hard to get out alive

and here I am, 50 years old & well fed

I don’t give two shits about the past

it’s time to thrive.

Simply said

as the broken clock ticks, i saw red

time to get out there & make a difference

whatever that means, instead of being a retread

make somoene smile instead.
