I wrote this poem nearly 2 years ago and saw it sitting in my drafts for the site. I had forgotten about it, but it was fully finished. So here it is, 2 years later… and a lot of it still applies! Enjoy… -B
“The Grass is Overgrown” by Brian Bolding 6.9.24
The grass is overgrown
I feel so alone
An invisible hand touches mine
All I can do is continue to shine
I’m 49 and life’s so stale
I’m still overweight, diabetic and pale
A whisper says leave it all behind
I’m much too old to be running blind
I think I’m finally okay
with being alone
No one’s good enough (so far)
it’s more than I can condone.
