On this episode of ‘That Atari Show,’ something that I thought was canon within the larger confines of video game history is that Activision purchased Imagic and its games in the late 80’s. Recently, when I appeared on MIke’s Gaming Gala’s ‘Retro Replay Podcast,’ this question came to light & I steadfastly proclaimed that Activision did indeed purchase Imagic so, therefore, Microsoft owns it all now. A friendi in the chat room pointed out that no one owned Imagic. I was puzzled. What in the world? So… I went down a rabbit hole and came upon one man, Dutchman 2000, and his claims that nobody, in fact, ever purchased Imagic and it remains in a ‘frozen’ status and was never properly liquidated and never had a buyer. He points to public files to support his claims. What do YOU think?
