3.27.19 Focus on Fitness (Journal)

I’ve started getting those looks.

You know the ones.

“Oh! You’ve lost weight!”

“You look so thin!”

“You dieting, bro?”

And I, for one, am ecstatic that people are noticing.

Since 2010, I’ve been focused on my health, in varying degrees, beginning with a massive 80 pound loss in 6 months back then. My weight went up and down, of course. I went from 300+ pounds to 220 while I lived in L.A., then my weight went up to 250 when I relocated to Albuquerque and slowed down my working out (due to cost and depression, mostly.) Over the years since, I’ve settled at around 255 lbs. Today, I’m happy to say I’m at 245, and have gone down a pants size or two. The reason for this is because I’ve begun looking at what I eat just a little bit more, staying focused on my fitness (working out daily, getting my steps in) and this, coupled with watching what I eat, has begun to sprout results. I’ve also been keeping super busy with my 2nd job (driving for Lyft), and still doing well in school (on the President’s List!), while holding down my full time 40 hour per week job that I still love.

Keeping busy! …that’s my new recipe for success when it comes to my weight!

If I keep busy, I’m spending less money and also not eating as much. My bank account has also grown, so that is some big stress off of me. I’m saving for a house, or to pay off my credit, or to just save because… I’ve needed to for so long.

As much as I’ve tried to get into smoothies and skimping on food, I find that as long as I eat everything in moderation, and throw in some greens every day, that I’ll be doing my body better justice than filling it up with pills and potions. I need MEAT (no pun intended), and I need broccoli and cauliflower, and salad… and… meat. In moderation! 😀

Ok.. .gotta go workout! (lol) See you L8R….
