3.25.20 Along For The Ride (Poem)

“Along For the Ride” by Brian Bolding

Written on 3/25/20

In isolation at home in the chilly deserts in New Mexico…

10 days and counting! Being safe and, obviously, alone. (haha)

Enjoy…

Im just along for the ride

I’m just sitting here

On the sofa all by myself and lonely

Getting older by the minute

Getting wrinkled by the second

Getting grey each and every day

How long must I wait

How long must I wait for you

You’ve taken so long, I’ve loved you all along

And I’ve bee waiting here, feeling so lonely

Feeling so blue, whoever you are

I’ve been waiting here forever

for you…

for you…

Just looking up to the skies for a little sign

I just want what’s rightfully mine

give me a — give me a sign

give me a — give me a sign

You used to be mine

You used to be mine

I can do better

I survived, nobody died

With experience at my side

Got nothing else to hide

I’m just along for the ride…
