6.25.17 A Whole Man (Poem)

“A Whole Man” by Brian B.

I just want a whole man

to call my own

Someone to hold me

so I’ll never feel alone

Someone to cherish

all my idiosyncrasies

Someone to love me

until I’m weak in the knees

I just want a whole man

to protect me from the night

Someone to kiss me

All encompassing like a light

Someone like a friend

to share life’s thrills

Someone to lift me up

this is how heaven feels

I just want a whole man

to stand by my side

Who won’t walk away

long after the newness has died

Someone to laugh with me

Day in and day out

Someone who counts on me

and is never ever in doubt.
