More Coffee Cups and Loneliness

by Brian B

Slurp Slurp

Take another swig

Of the neverending coffee cup that overflows with random ideas I cannot hide.

Shrug Shrug

I don’t wanna be lonely

But at my age and living in a small town means I’ll probably be alone for awhile.

As I look to the future me

All I can see – is an empty coffee cup

Staring back at me.

As I look to the past

All that I find – is an overflowing coffee cup

That never seems to last.

Slurp Slurp

Take another drag

Off that steamy piping hot cup of coffee in your shallow cold hands.

Shrug Shrug

Leave me and shit

I guess I’ll sit here and stare the wall because I’m so used to it.
